Presets
Barometer includes factory presets for common monitoring and gain staging scenarios, plus A/B comparison and user preset saving.
A/B Comparison
Use the A/B button to store two independent parameter states. Toggle between them to quickly compare different gain staging, width, or phase settings. Both states persist when you save a preset.
Factory Presets
Default / Bypass
All controls at unity. Gain 0 dB, Width 100%, no phase invert, no filters. Pure metering with no signal modification.
Mono Check
Mono enabled. Check your mix for phase cancellation and stereo compatibility. Elements that disappear in mono need attention.
Phase Check
Phase invert on one channel. When toggled, elements that thin out or cancel are in-phase in the original. Elements that get louder may have phase issues.
Narrow Width
Width set to 50%. Hear what your mix sounds like with a narrower stereo image — useful for checking translation to smaller speakers and mono-adjacent playback.
Wide Stereo
Width set to 150%. Preview an enhanced stereo image. Use carefully — excessive widening can cause phase issues on playback systems that sum to mono.
DC Clean
DC Filter enabled. Removes subsonic DC offset that can waste headroom and cause inaccurate metering. Useful when working with analog hardware or certain plugin chains.
Solo Left / Solo Right
Isolates individual channels. Listen for balance issues, unwanted noise on one side, or check that panning decisions translate.
User Presets
Save your own presets from the preset menu. User presets store all parameter values including A/B states.
User presets are saved to your system's standard preset location and are available across all DAWs on the same machine.
